We are an independent British equestrian and lifestyle brand creating a new generation of rider wear for the modern rider.   Our aim is for sport to meet style with products intended to be multi-purpose - from ‘hack-out’ to ‘work-out’.  All products are designed in-house and made exclusively for us, with each piece carefully created for maximum performance and wearability.

We have developed a range of clothing suitable for all equestrian disciplines as well as leisurewear and other sporting activities. Drawing inspiration from athletic sports such as cycling and skiing, our brand is all about affordable yet high-spec technical clothing.  Our designs are defined by specialist performance fabric and practical features such as UPF 50 sun protection.  A program of vigorous testing by international riders has helped to create fashionable and functional clothes for riders to look good and feel good on and off their horse.  

Erin Williams from Derbyshire competes as a dressage rider for Team GB. Winning national and regional dressage championship titles, Erin has been on 6 European Dressage teams for Great Britain and competed for her country all over Europe. Her experience as an international dressage rider has inspired Erin to develop a clothing brand that would appeal and be affordable to riders like herself.   

Established in 2017, our story began with Team GB dressage rider Erin Williams creating a small range of practical, high quality and fashionable riding wear whilst she was studying at university. She was able to fund the start-up after selling a home produced dressage horse following a successful season competing for Great Britain.   Erin used her wealth of riding knowledge plus her experience as a fitness enthusiast and a ski instructor,  to produce a unique collection of practical and technical multipurpose sportswear for riders of all levels and disciplines.

Fortunate to have her dressage horses in training at her own yard, Erin remains well placed to ensure all of her designs are thoroughly tried and tested before going into production.  This attention to detail and emphasis on quality has helped her create one of the fastest growing  'functional fashion' equestrian brands.

Black Heart Equestrian is a company ran by women for women and is passionate about body confidence and inclusivity.  Our products range from size XXS - XXL.  We promote body positivity across our social media and we are actively involved in forums and platforms against cyber-bullying towards young women.

We upcycle left over products at a heavily discounted price though our Depop account, all profits from which go to selected equestrian charities including our local branch of Riding for the Disabled.  

We are continually working towards a better environment and proudly manufacture our products in an ethical and eco-friendly way with fair pay and good working conditions.  We also utilise recycled PET Fabric where possible - using recycled plastic bottles spun into Lycra.  Our primary factory is the proud recipient of a National Sustainable Development Award and also a Carbon Footprint Certification for it's positive efforts towards a greener environment.
